Guidance

Project Manager, Project Officers and Field Officers will provide guidance on work plans, language translation, directions and networking and collaboration with local people.

Other relevant information

The volunteer expected to have a Visa before entering Malawi to avoid misunderstanding between government departments such as Migration and security department. There is need for WWOOF Malawi and COFO to have more information on the Volunteers before they come in terms of skills and health status

The volunteers will staying with the host families or in separate houses which will accommodate them right in the community near the project. The volunteers may also need to know that they will be afforded with mostly, local dishes.

Transportation & costs

The volunteers should be prepared to be oriented, firstly, about Malawi and communities where they will be working at COFO main Office. The distance from Chileka Airport to Chikwawa is between 55 to 80 kilometers. WWOOF Malawi and COFO recommends the volunteers to use Chileka Airport in Blantyre to reduce the expenses for accommodation and Transportation.

Working-days & -hours

The volunteers will work from Monday to Friday. Lunch hour starts at 12 noon and ends at 13:00 pm. WWOOF Malawi and COFO will offer Office space and community guides who shall move around with interns in communities. We will also share information and photos of COFO’s general activities to equip the interns with adequate knowledge of the organization. This will help the volunteers to learn our culture and social interaction with local people in our target communities.
